YWCA expanding Early Learning Center, relocating to former St. Clare's campus

SCHENECTADY — The YWCA of Schenectady has been awarded a $1.2 million state grant to relocate and expand its Early Learning Center at the former St. Clare’s Hospital campus as part of broader plans to redevelop the now-vacant medical facility.

The award, announced Monday by Empire State Development (ESD), calls for nearly doubling the number of child care slots available in the program that serves infants and children up to age five.
